Titans tight end Casey Cramer is likely to see more playing time against Jacksonville for fellow tight end Bo Scaife, who is questionable for Sunday’s game with an ankle injury.
Cramer said he is ready to contribute on offense if his number is called against the Jaguars.
''I think all three of the tight ends are ready to step up,'' Cramer said. ''With (tight end Ben) Hartstock taking more of a role and Coop (tight end Cooper Wallace) stepping in and taking a large role too, I think all the three of us are ready to go.''
Cramer has been a standout special teams player this season for the Titans. However, his contributions to the offense have been minimal because of his limited involvement. On the season, Cramer has two receptions for 8-yards along with 12 special team tackles.
With the injury to Scaife, Cramer’s is likely to see more playing time in his stead. Cramer said that he is comfortable catching passes from rookie quarterback Vince Young, whom he practiced with during the week as part of the first-team offense.
''Vince spreads the ball around well enough that everybody feels comfortable around him,'' Cramer said. ''He’s going to get the ball to the person who’s open the most. I think we’re all comfortable with the way he’s throwing the ball.''
Cramer has also seen action at the fullback position this season, filling in for an injured Ahmard Hall in week 2 against the Chargers.
Cramer said he prepares for both positions in the event he is needed to step up.
''I feel like everything kind of overlaps,'' Cramer said. ''I just try to make sure that I’m ready to back up either position.''
