Offense Caps Off Huge Fourth Quarter Drive
By Evan Dennison December 10, 2006

Down 17-13 with 11:49 left in the fourth, just coming off a Vince Young interception, starting at their own 12 after a holding penalty on the kickoff, the Titans offense really had to dig deep.

The Titans did just that with a 15 play 88 yard drive that spanded just over eight minutes.

During the drive, the Titans converted numerous third down conversions. The offense converted three third down conversions as they were 3-for-3 on third downs.

Center Kevin Mawae praised the rest of the offensive line with the way they executed.

“I thought we did a great job, I think our communication level is where it needed to be, I think Eugene came in and did a great job for Benji Olson,” Mawae said.

Olson was inactive for the game due to back spasms suffered throughout the week and was unable to go.

The third downs included a three yard Vince Young rollout on a third and two early in the drive, a 15 yard completion to wide receiver Brandon Jones on a third and nine at the Houston 50 and another Vince Young scamper out of the backfield on a third and four deep in Texans territory to the five.

Before the three conversions, the Titans were 1-of-8 on third downs.

Running back Travis Henry had five carries for 27 yards in the drive. Henry finished off the drive with a two yard rushing touchdown to put the Titans up 20-17 with 3:56 left in the fourth.

Vince Young went 4-of-5 passing for 34 yards on the drive.
