Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch faces his favorite team numbers wise this Sunday down in Houston.
In three career games against the Texans, Vanden Bosch has posted 20 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. In his career, Vanden Bosch has 20.5 sacks, so 25 percent of his sacks are against Houston.
"For whatever reason, I always seem to play well against them and its just kind of like that with some teams," Vanden Bosch said.
The fifth year defensive end out of Nebraska looks to put up the same type of numbers come this Sunday.
"As a player, you get into the flow against some teams and I've probably played three of my best games against them," Vanden Bosch said. "I look forward to the matchup and expect to have some of the same results.
This season, Vanden Bosch has 35 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble. In the first meeting with Houston, Vanden Bosch posted six tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.
Head coach Jeff Fisher said he knows Houston will be focused on keeping Vanden Bosch away from Texans quarterback David Carr this Sunday.
"They are going to be determined to make sure it doesn't happen again and they will be equipped to do that with backs and tight ends that are lined up against him in protection," Fisher said.
Fisher said if they put an extra body on Vanden Bosch, it will open the door for somebody else to make a play.
"If that's what they choose to do then somebody else is going to have to step up and assist Kyle in applying the pressure," Fisher said.
Vanden Bosch said getting to Carr will be one factor in coming out victorious.
"Sacks are going to be big this game, if we can get them that's going to be a big key to us winning this game," Vanden Bosch said.
