Tennessee Titans star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins strained his left knee in practice this week and is expected to miss four to six weeks, according to multiple media reports on Thursday.
Hopkins wore a wrap on his left leg early in the team practice on Wednesday before leaving the field with vice president of sports medicine Todd Toriscelli, according to reports. NFL reporter Paul Kuharsky was the first to report the news.
The team didn’t have practice on Thursday, and Friday’s session will be closed to the media.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time first-team All-Pro, Hopkins led the Titans with 75 catches, 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023, his first season with Tennessee.
Hopkins, 32, has 928 career receptions for 1,2355 yards and 78 TDs in 162 games (161 starts) for the Houston Texans (2013-19), Arizona Cardinals (2020-22) and Titans.
The Texans selected him 27th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Clemson.
Tennessee could turn in Hopkins’ absence to third-year receiver Treylon Burks, a 2022 first-round pick, as well as free-agent signings Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd.
The Titans open the regular season on Sept. 8 at the Chicago Bears.
